Stephanie Zimbalist was born to Loranda Stephanie nee Spalding and actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Stephanie is the grand-daughter of Efrem Zimbalist Sr, who was a teacher, composer and a concert violinist; while her grandmother Alma Gluck was a leading soprano.
Stephanie Zimbalist who grew up in Los Angeles was a gorgeous tomboy who indulged in riding, playing tennis, swimming, dancing and diving in her growing years. She also indulged in amateur theatricals producing, writing, and directing bits and skits in places like in the alley of her little bedroom, in the stable, and neighbors' open yards and fireplace hearths.
Stephanie Zimbalist graduated from Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Virginia and returned back to Los Angeles to study acting, voice, tap and ballet. She later joined The Juilliard School, one of the world's most prestigious performing arts conservatories in New York City and had a great time picking up the nuances in acting.
